HND Travel and Tourism

This two year course provides the knowledge and skills required to work in a wide range of travel and tourism businesses. Successful completion also allows access to the third year of a number of Tourism Degree Programmes. Glasgow Clyde College work closely in partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University to offer an Associate Student scheme. This allows you all the benefits of being a GCU student as well as a guaranteed place on the third year of a number of their tourism degrees whilst studying at college (subject to achieving certain college grades).

Students completing the course work in retail and business travel, for airlines or at the airport, as tourist guides, in hotels and for tour operators both in this country and overseas. This course gives you a practical insight into the travel and tourism industry and over the two years you will get the chance to use the latest package holiday reservation, airport check-in and hotel front office software. Work Experience is a compulsory part of the course. The second year of the course develops some of the academic skills and critical thinking that are required to progress to university.
