HND Administration and Information Technology - Year 2 entry

This course is suitable for those who have completed the HNC Administration and Information Technology qualification and would like to progress onto completing HND Administration and Information Technology qualification.

  • Employment Law
  • Advanced IT (Word Processing, Database, Spreadsheet)
  • Information and Communication Technology in Business
  • Developing the Individual within a Team
  • Work Experience (subject to availability)
  • Presentation Skills 
  • Graded Unit Exam and Project
  • Possible non-core units include: Customer Care, Economics, Business, Statistics, Business Startup, and Marketing
Assessment will be mainly continuous, with a mix of practical and theoretical assessments. There are two graded units, one a closed book exam and the other an open book project.

Entry requirements (minimum)

You must have the relevant HNC with the full 15 credits.

Progression routes

Third year entry to various degree courses at University of the West of Scotland, Glasgow Caledonian University and to other UK universities. 

The HND has a strong managerial focus which enables candidates to progress more quickly to supervisory/management roles. 

The course prepares successful learners for entry to a wide range of positions in offices, local Government, the health service, manufacturing and retail.
