ESOL Transitions Beauty Care (January 2018)

This is a part-time course designed for ESOL learners who are interested in a career in the Beauty Care Sector. 

Throughout the course, you will be introduced to a selection of essential beauty treatment techniques with a focus on make-up and nail skills.

Please note: this is not an ESOL Programme.

Course content

  • SQA L4: NPA Beauty Care
  • SQA L4: NPA Enterprise and Employability
  • SQA L4: Personal Development Units
  • SQA L5: ESOL in Context: Work
  • Work experience in a beauty environment.

Entry requirements (minimum)

  • SQA ESOL Intermediate 1 (minimum of 2 units achieved) and IELTS 4.5 
  • an interest in working in Beauty Care
  • a successful interview 
  • you will be required to provide evidence of current English level and you may be required to do an assessment to ensure you are offered a class at the correct level.

Selection Process Information

Progression routes

Successful students may progress onto L5 courses in the Hair, Beauty and Complimentary Therapies at Glasgow Clyde College.

For courses starting in August 2017, you can make up to two applications.

Applications are made to a course and a first choice of campus. If the course is oversubscribed at your first choice you will be automatically considered for alternative sites and may be made an offer without a further application.
