Bridge to Further Education (January 2018)

The Bridge to Further Education programme will help you develop the skills and qualifications required to progress onto full-time study at college.

If you are 18 to 24 year-old and have been unable to secure a positive destination or have skills gaps which prevent you achieving your career goal then this course is for you. 

On the programme you will work towards SQA units, complete vocational tasters and develop a range personal and essential skills that will prepare you for full-time study. You will also develop an understanding of current employment, training and educational opportunities. 


Course content

  • SQA Core Skills L4 qualifications: Communications, Numeracy, ICT, Problem Solving and Working with Others
  • Introduction to Enterprise and developing an Enterprising Mind-Set
  • SQA L4 Personal Development Units 
  • Vocational Tasters

Entry requirements (minimum)

  • You must be aged 18 to 24
  • No formal qualifications are required for this course however an interview and Core Skills Profiling are part of the selection process
  • References may be required.

For courses starting in August 2017, you can make up to two applications.

Applications are made to a course and a first choice of campus. If the course is oversubscribed at your first choice you will be automatically considered for alternative sites and may be made an offer without a further application.
