NQ Celtic Pathway into Football Coaching - Level 6

This course is designed to give you the skills, expertise and relevant vocational qualifications to work within the Football Industry. It aims to develop a pathway/certification for football coaches leading to possible employment with Celtic Football Club.

It also provides you with the knowledge so that you can progress onto HND Coaching and Developing Sport or HND Fitness, Health and Exercise. A PVG will be required to undertake any coaching placements / work experience which may be included in the course. This course contains practical elements and applicants should ensure that they are physically fit enough to undertake the practical elements of the course. 

Course content

The course consists of Level 6 units and College certificates which cover a range of practical and theoretical sports related units. Units can include: 

  • Sporting Activity Football
  • Football Coaching 
  • Introduction to Analysing Football Performance
  • Working with Others
  • Human Physiology  
  • Introduction of Support Mechanisms
  • Work (Coaching Experience) 

A programme of team building and leadership skills is undertaken along with Core skills First Aid certificate and National Governing Body football awards - 1.1,1.2 and 1.3.

Entry requirements (minimum)

  • All applicants must have an active interest in football and football coaching.
  • Entry will be by interview and two acceptable reference to determine suitability for this course
  • Applications are also welcome from those without formal qualifications who can demonstrate an active interest in fitness or sport and relevant life/work experience.
