Managing Challenging Behaviour - Children

The Managing Challenging Behaviour - Children course offered at Glasgow Clyde College explores some of the reasons why learners may display challenging or inappropriate behaviour in the classroom and the techniques used to manage this.

Aimed at teaching staff and parents, this course examines proactive approaches to encourage and support positive, ongoing changes in learners' behaviour.

Course content

  • understanding the cause of challenging behaviour 
  • strategies to manage this effectively 
  • dealing with staff stress  
  • an understanding of additional support needs that can affect children's behaviour 
  • what works, what doesn't work 
  • case studies 
  • self-care skills and support for workers.
