The Level 4 City and Guilds Certificate in Education and Training is a first stage teaching qualification which has a teaching/training practice requirement. It is an ‘in service’ qualification designed for those working or wishing to work as teachers/trainers.All learners must have access to 30 hours of teaching. This qualification is also suitable for those delivering education and training in any learning environment.
Upon successful completion of this qualification you will have a fundamental understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer in relation to legislation, equality, diversity, inclusivity and meeting the needs of learners.
You will be able to use initial and diagnostic assessments and plan and deliver inclusive teaching and learning. You will also be able to assess learning and use appropriate resources to support effective learning.
Mandatory Units involve:
You must be at least 19 years or over and have access to at least 30 teaching hours (In service requirement) You should be qualified/experienced in the subject you wish to teach at least Level 3, with good levels of language, literacy and numeracy.
You should be IT literate. The College will undertake an initial assessment of your skills in English and mathematics.
You must have access to 30 hours of teaching.
This qualification is also suitable for those delivering education and training in any learning environment.
