Introduction to Digital Production

This course will help you produce your own video content for broadcast and use online.


Course content

The course will teach you to:
  • self-shoot 
  • edit 
  • output to different file types. 

The content includes:

Digital Video – range of shots (basic, long, mid, close up, talk to hand, interview techniques, set-up shots for interviewees, Vox pops and establishing shots, pans, tilts.

Digital editing – finding the programme, programme set-up as a default, getting into the timeline and use of bins.

Downloading material – stills and graphics from stills camera and files. Downloading video from DSLR camera, downloading music tracks, sound effects and wildtrack including legalities. Selecting material for use, marking in and out points, dropping to timeline, cuts and dissolves, basic sound edits. Edit a clip, basic captions, editing a montage.

Entry requirements (minimum)

Candidates should be occupationally competent in their vocational area and have a training role in the workplace.
