Illustrator for Fashion Design is a comprehensive course which explores the ways that Adobe Illustrator can be used to create professional Fashion CAD designs in line with industry standards.
Fashion is a fast paced industry and all budding Fashion and Textile Designers need the necessary proficient CAD skills to translate their designs in the workplace. Illustrator designs are used daily in design companies to translate ranges to Buyers and to communicate designs to factories.
Course tutor Mairi McDonald is able to use her own experience as a Senior Designer in industry and as Design Director of her own womenswear label to give realistic and detailed guidance of what skills are needed and all will be explored in this course.
You will learn Adobe Illustrator through a series of class tutorials and will apply the knowledge and skills learned to creating a body of design work to a given brief.
You will produce a digital portfolio which will include Mood Boards, Design Development, Final Designs, Spec Sheets and Range Plan.
On successful completion of this course, you will gain an SQA Higher National 1 Credit Unit: Garment Manufacture: An Introduction to Working Drawings.
