Introduction to Bridal and Evening Make-up

This Introduction to Bridal and Evening Make-up course at Glasgow Clyde College is suitable for anyone interested in make up and can be tailored to meet your existing skills. The course covers make-up artistry techniques for weddings and special occasions.

An industry expert will teach you the skills and techniques required to apply make-up to a professional standard suitable for young and mature clients.

Course content

This SQA unit covers:

  • identifying and working with various skin types
  • identifying contraindications to treatment
  • preparing for and carrying out a cleanse, tone and moisturise
  • equipment, products and materials necessary for bridal or evening make-up
  • salon procedures and health and safety regulations
  • corrective make-up. 

Funding 

Unfortunately this course is not eligible for any funding at this time.

Entry requirements (minimum)

This course is suitable for those with knowledge of facial skin care and day make-up but may also be studied by those with little or no knowledge in this area.

You are required to provide 2 models during this course for assessment purposes. Models should include both young and mature skin types.

Progression routes

Successful completion of this unit may lead to opportunities for employment in a role using make-up. It may also lead to the candidate able to gain access to a range of other related subjects in make-up, beauty therapy, hairdressing or spa treatments.
